Does Nomad have a built-in battery?
No. Nomad does not have a built-in battery. It must be connected to AC power from a compatible portable power station, RV power source, wall outlet, or suitable vehicle inverter.
What power source do I need for Nomad?
Nomad supports 200W, 400W, 600W, 800W, and 1000W power levels. Use a compatible AC power source such as a portable power station, RV outlet, wall outlet, or suitable vehicle inverter.
How much power do I need to support the Nomad?
The Nomad uses about 1000W of power to boil 34 oz of water in around 3 minutes, with an energy use of roughly 50Wh. For more details, you can check our Nomad energy-use blog. If you want to use the Nomad to cover a full day of meals, we recommend using a power station with at least 500Wh of capacity.
What materials is the Nomad Cooking System made from?
The pot and pan bodies and lids are made from aluminum alloy with non-stick coatings for fast, even heat conduction. The pot and pan bottoms use PA66+30%GF, and the Heating Reactor housing uses ABS+PC. Food-contact materials meet FDA standards and are BPA-free.
What is the non-stick coating made of?
The non-stick coating is a modified PTFE that the site states does not contain PFAS, PFOS, or PFOA. Nomad's smart temperature control is designed to keep the cooking surface within a safe operating range during normal use.
Can I use my own cookware with the Nomad Reactor?
It is not recommended. Nomad's pan and pot are designed as part of the system and include built-in temperature control features that work with the Reactor. Using incompatible cookware may damage the product and can create a safety risk.
What can I cook with Nomad?
